I cut my hair short after I had my first son because I thought it would be easier to care for. It was harder. If I didn't tame it immediately after washing it looked shit and it got all big and mushroomy. Hated it. Grew it back and still have long hair now with my third. Sure, theres often refluxed sick in it and sometimes I find tiny dreadlocks created by sticky hands and strawberry jam, but if you can look past that it's pretty and I need it. Now you've said bob so many times though I will 100% be spending the rest of my week considering getting a bob, so... watch this space, I guess (snip snip)
RIGHT, this confirms all my suspicions that ‘low-maintenance ’ hair is a total con. So much styling! The tiniest weird flick can make or break the whole look. Whereas when it’s long it’s a kind of cheerleader effect – nobody notices the split ends/weird flicks/sick because the overall effect is just ooooh, hair
I'm screaming... As a fellow long haired woman who's bored her friends with the "should I get bob" chat for years now (and still haven't done it) I related to this so much. I've talked about it so much that I've inspired several people to get a bob... but I'm still out here with my long hair. You're hilarious. It's a rare to find someone this funny on paper x
Jill Crewe 4eva! I inherited them all from my mum, who was also a suburban girl with little interest in actually riding horses – but oh, the joy of those stories. And so funny!
I went so opposite in my 30s I was unhappy with shoulder length at best. Bobs seemed sophisticated and chic on some, but an inevitable bad blow dry Wayne's World liklihood for me if unmanaged. So I went the other way. I got extensions. I have more hair. I have more confidence. And yes, I've more time in the bathroom, but NO REGRETS that this is what felt right. Bob on bob. Hello lovely locks. Here here 🙌
I am currently considering growing out my bob due to having to actually style it everyday and I do sort of hate that when I work out, bits of hair fall into my face because they don't reach the hairband. Long hair lets you get away with dry shampooing it for several more days than you should. As I am also on the 'fringe or Botox' fence atm I think I'll need to grow it; I do not have the requisite level of coolness to make Lego hair look chic.
I’m currently growing out my pixie for the third time in ten years. I’m at the very, very awkward stage where the side bits are only brushing the bottom of my ears and I cannot WAIT for the bob stage even though it looks horrendous on me lol
Ha! Loved it. "the ketamine of the shampoo and conditioner world" and "dead protein" had me. Also here for the antique Seinfeld refs 🔥
Has Seinfeld had a TikTok resurrection yet?? Surely it’s due
Ooh good Q. This nana can't stand TikTok but there's def a lot of it about on IG...
Hilarious! Do we reckon women think about getting a bob as much as men think about the Roman Empire 😂
Caesar had a natty little crop, now you mention it

100%. My mum hair flicked inward on one side and outward on the other. Nightmare. As if we're not dealing with enough.
Yes!!

Aw thanks! Honestly I think my final words on my deathbed will be “should I get a bob though”
I was huge pony book girl in the 90s! Jill was the best and I remember Jinny and The Saddle Club too. Can anyone else remember anymore?!

Bob on bob!!! Yesss
"they swing from it like tiny Tarzans." Ha, yes! And ouch.
Love it all.
I'm still not past the image of tiny Tarzans swinging from one's hair!
